Molly Stanford is volunteering at the Shepherd Falls Annual Sand & Sea Festival when her Russell Terrier mix, Sherlock, digs up a human bone on the beach. It turns out to belong to a man who disappeared over twenty years before. The locals believed he’d simply left town but actually the truth was buried closer than they realized. Tragedy strikes a second time when Clara, the festival director, is found murdered. Molly is determined to find out if the murders are connected and if so, who the killer is before they strike again.

I found this book to be a straightforward read with a plot that was easy to follow. It did have its twists and turns that kept my interest. Sterling added some humor in her characters that made the tone of the book lighter at times. Overall, I think most cozy mystery fans would appreciate this book.
