Buried Secrets and Killer Brownies: A Harper Cozy Mystery
Lyla Ashton
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Harper Skye moved to Haven Point to run a B &B after her husband passes away. During renovations, she uncovers one of her late husband’s journals, opening a centuries-old mystery that threatens to destroy everything she knows. Along with her friends-Agnes, Sam, Luke and Vicki-and her trusty labradoodle, Chandler Bing, Harper works to unravel this mystery before it is too late.
This book is a bit different than most of the cozy mysteries I read. It has a more serious tone and had some paranormal/fantasy elements to it that I wasn’t expecting. Honestly, I had a difficult time getting into the plot. However, I enjoyed the character development and the author’s use of imagery. Even though this book was not my preference, I feel it was well-written and readers that enjoy a mixture of mystery and fantasy would enjoy it.
